Resumo: Abstract: This article aims to bring brief considerations on the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on the world of work, focusing on the phenomenon called by scholars as "technological unemployment". Starting from an analysis of the technology implementation system in the production and service provision processes, we sought to distinguish the different stages of capitalist industrialization, taking into account the development of technology and its consequences on human work. Comparing the understanding of several scholars, we sought to understand whether there will be large-scale unemployment and / or the creation of new jobs, how this process was accelerated by the new coronavirus pandemic and, finally, the need to establish legal protection for Brazilian employees in the face of the inevitable automation.

Partindo de uma análise da implementação da tecnologia nos processos de produção e prestação de serviços, buscou-se distinguir os diferentes estágios da industrialização capitalista, ao levar em conta o desenvolvimento da tecnologia e suas consequências sobre o trabalho humano.
