Resumo: | The objective of this study is to analyze the priorities for hospital care in SUS Bahia, during the period of health planning from 2008 to 2019. This is a qualitative study, based on the State Health Plans prepared for the period of 2008 to 2019, which underwent discourse analysis. Its results point to the heterogeneous distribution of the supply of medium and high complexity services among the macro-regions of the state of Bahia with a greater concentration in large urban centers and the concern of managers with the assistance voids existing in other areas that impact the health situation. of the Bahian population. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar las prioridades de la atención hospitalaria en el SUS Bahía, durante el período de planificación en salud de 2008 a 2019. Se trata de un estudio cualitativo, basado en el análisis de los Planes de Salud del Estado elaborados para el período de 2008 a 2019, que se sometió a análisis de discurso. Trata-se de estudo qualitativo, a partir dos Planos Estaduais de Saúde elaborados para o período de 2008 a 2019, que foram submetidos à análise do discurso. Os seus resultados apontam para a heterogênea distribuição da oferta dos serviços de média e alta complexidade entre as macrorregiões do Estado da Bahia, com maior concentração nos grandes centros urbanos, e para a preocupação dos gestores com os vazios assistenciais existentes em outras áreas, que impactam na situação de saúde da população baiana. Conclui-se que a implantação de 28 policlínicas abrangendo cada região de saúde, a maior contratualização dos hospitais filantrópicos e de pequeno porte e o estabelecimento de modelos alternativos de gestão hospitalar foram medidas estratégicas para superar essas dificuldades.
