Benefits of the implementation of a Ramsar site in Amapá to mitigate the impacts of climate change in the region

Resumo: The quality of wetlands is intrinsic to the systemic balance of the ecosystem. The disorganized urban growth influences the occupation of the wetlands. Together with the impacts caused by climate change, this problem makes it necessary to study sustainable and urgent solutions. Given the national and international importance of wetlands in mitigating the effects of climate change and maintaining the quality of life of the population, this paper discusses the impacts caused by climate change and the possible mitigation through the establishment of an area classified as a Ramsar site in Amapá, aiming at the conservation and protection of the Igarapé da Fortaleza and Lagoa dos Índios watersheds. In this vein, we analyzed the existing public policies and projects that deal with the environment and the implementation of conservation units of the hangover areas in order to remedy the impacts, so as to treat and recover the environment, aiming at sustainable development, as well as investigated the benefits of such actions. In face of the research, it is verified that despite the legal framework of protection of such areas, little has been done effectively, the implementation of the site in these areas is necessary considering the irregular occupations and minimization of present and future impacts resulting from climate change.

El crecimiento urbano desordenado influye en la ocupación de los humedales. Junto con los impactos causados por el cambio climático, este problema hace necesario estudiar soluciones sostenibles y urgentes. El presente trabajo discute los impactos causados por el cambio climático y la posible mitigación a través de la implementación de un área clasificada como sitio Ramsar en Amapá, con el objetivo de la conservación y protección de las cuencas hidrográficas Igarapé da Fortaleza y Lagoa dos Índios. En este sentido, se analizaron las políticas públicas existentes y los proyectos que se ocupan del medio ambiente y la implementación de unidades de conservación de las áreas de resaca con el fin de remediar los impactos, con el fin de tratar y recuperar el medio ambiente, con miras al desarrollo sostenible, así como investigó los beneficios de tales acciones. Frente a la investigación, se verifica que a pesar del marco legal de protección de tales áreas, poco se ha hecho de manera efectiva, la implementación del sitio en estas áreas es necesaria teniendo en cuenta las ocupaciones irregulares y la minimización de los impactos presentes y futuros resultantes del cambio climático.A qualidade das áreas úmidas está intrínseca ao equilíbrio sistêmico do ecossistema. O crescimento urbano desordenada influência nas ocupações das áreas de ressacas. Junto aos impactos causados pelas mudanças climáticas, esse problema torna necessária o estudo de soluções sustentáveis e urgentes. Diante desta importância nacional e internacional das áreas úmidas frente a mitigação dos efeitos das mudanças climáticas e manutenção da qualidade de vida da população, o presente trabalho discute os impactos causados pelas mudanças climáticas e a possível mitigação através da implantação de uma área classificada como sítio Ramsar no Amapá, visando a conservação e proteção das bacias Igarapé da Fortaleza e Lagoa dos Índios. Nesse viés, analisou-se as políticas públicas existentes e projetos que tratam do meio ambiente e da implantação de unidades de conservação das áreas de ressaca a fim de remediar os impactos, de modo a tratar e recuperar o meio ambiente, visando desenvolvimento sustentável, bem como se investigou os benefícios de tais ações.
