Resumo: This first of three essays provokingly sets out to establish a dialog between Eça de Queirós', A Relíquia, with a scholarly tradition concerning memory and bodies. Wether by investigating the notion of archive in Derrida or the notion of heritage in Choay, both pay tribute to Freud and the archeological literature since the 19th century. At the same time, the essay explores the archive of a writing of oneself.
