Summary: | The objective of this research is to contribute to the planning for facing crisis in urban water supply (CUWS). To achieving this goal, a combination of artificial intelligence techniques and Multiple Criteria Decision Aid (MCDA) was proposed. The development of computational tools (software) to assist the process of decision making and their application to a case study are parts of the scope of the research proposal. The following results were obtained in this research: (i) the knowledge of possible design guidelines for solving CUWS cases; (ii) the knowledge of factors influencing CUWS; (iii) the development of a hybrid model of decision analysis, called CUWS-SAD, based on the principles of vector similarity, knowledge-based systems (expert systems) and on the use of MCDA. The quality assessment of the developed models indicated concordance index of 56%, and that improvements in the models can be obtained through enhancement in the quality and quantity of the input data. The conclusions of the research indicate that the proposed approach for the problem treatment can be considered adequate. However, problems to attain knowledge of human experts suggest further investigations. |

However, problems to attain knowledge of human experts suggest further investigations.A pesquisa realizada tem o objetivo de apresentar uma contribuição para o planejamento do enfrentamento de crise no abastecimento urbano de água (CAUA). Para isso foi proposta uma combinação de técnicas de inteligência artificial e metodologias multicriteriais de apoio à decisão (MCDA). Faz parte do escopo da pesquisa o desenvolvimento de ferramentas computacionais (software) para auxiliar o processo de tomada de decisão e a realização de um estudo de caso. Os resultados encontrados foram os seguintes: (i) o conhecimento de possíveis diretrizes de projeto para solução de casos de CAUA; (ii) o conhecimento de fatores influentes na CAUA; (iii) o desenvolvimento de um modelo híbrido de análise de decisão, denominado de CAUA-SAD, baseado nos princípios de similaridade vetorial, de sistemas baseados em conhecimento (sistemas especialistas) e no uso das MCDA. A avaliação da qualidade dos modelos desenvolvidos indicou uma concordância de 56%, e que melhorias nos modelos podem ser obtidas por meio de refinamento nos dados de entrada. As conclusões da pesquisa indicam que a abordagem adotada para o tratamento do problema pode ser considerada adequada.
