Em 1987, a personagem migrou para a Rede Bandeirantes, foi a estreia da bem sucedida TV Fofão, que perdurou por mais três anos.1 O sucesso foi tão grande que o boneco baseado na personagem, com as bochechas fartas de buldogue, cabelos vermelhos, camisa listrada e jardineira, vendeu cerca de quatro milhões de exemplares no Brasil2. No início da década seguinte, boatos acerca de um pacto com o demônio, um punhal cravado no interior da barriga e tendências assassinas do fofo boneco, espalharam-se em todo o território nacional. Curiosamente, a lenda do boneco fofão assassino nasce no bojo do lançamento de filmes de suspense/terror baseados em brinquedos e temática infantil, como é o caso de IT3 – o palhaço assassino, de 1990; Bonecos da Morte4, de 1989; e, Chucky – Brinquedo Assassino, de 19885. Mais curioso ainda é o fato de que este último, mais famoso no Brasil do que os demais, também usa, além dos cabelos vermelhos, uma camisa listrada e uma jardineira jeans. Diante disso, no intuito de experimentar o suspense como elemento narrativo e criativo de grande importância, capaz de mover e comover os ânimos do público, foi escolhido esse tema como mote para a história ficcional desenvolvida no roteiro. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTIn 1983 Fofão came from an extraterrestrial Fofolândia and landed his spaceship in the children's show Balão Mágico, Rede Globo. In 1987 the character moved to Rede Bandeirantes. It was the debut of the successful TV Fofão show, which lasted over than three years. It was such a large success that the doll based on this character with bulldog swinging cheeks, red hair, striped shirt and dungarees sold about four million units in Brazil. At the beginning of the next decade rumors of a pact with the devil, a dagger hidden inside its belly and murderous tendencies of the cute doll spread throughout the national territory. Curiously the legend of the assassin doll Fofão emerged among the release of thriller/horror films based on toys and children themes, such as IT, 1990; The Puppetmaster, 1989; and Child's Play, 1988. Even odder is the fact that the last one, more famous in Brazil than the others, besides the red hair it also use a striped shirt and jeans dungarees.
