Nessas obras, como opositor ocidental dos persas por excelência, Alexandre exerce o papel de adversário escatológico dentro do sistema dualista zoroástrico, recebendo epítetos como gizistag (“maldito”) e sendo demonizado através de sua suposta relação com o demônio persa da ira, Xēšm. A investigação destes objetos permitirá um mergulho na tradição iraniana em busca de mais respostas sobre esta temática pouco estudada. O capítulo primeiro explica a necessidade da distinção entre um spatium historicum (o tempo histórico) e um spatium mythicum (o tempo sacro) na trajetória de Alexandre e ressalta a importância do mito na explicação da realidade política e social na Antigüidade e diante. O segundo capítulo trata rapidamente do material apocalíptico persa na literatura pahlavi e lida com questões essenciais do apocalipticismo persa, como sua Weltanschauung e o problema de datação das fontes. In these works, as the Western opponent of the Persians par excellence, Alexander plays the role of eschatological opponent inside the Zoroastrian dualistic system receiving epithets like gizistag (“accursed”) and being demonized through his alleged relationship with the Persian demon of wrath, Xēšm. The investigation of these themes will allow immersion in the Iranian tradition in search of more answers on this little-studied subject. The first chapter explains the need for distinction between a spatium historicum (historical time) and a spatium mythicum (sacred time) in Alexander’s trajetory and to emphasize the importance of myth in the explanation of social and political reality, in Antiquity and beyond. The second chapter deals with the Persian apocalyptic material in Pahlavi literature and with key issues of Persian apocalypticism, as its Weltanschauung and the dating problem of its sources.
