Utilizando-se os resultados das eleições de 2006 e os dados das leis orçamentárias, o presente trabalho se propõe a analisar se existe de fato uma estreita relação entre o padrão de votos dos deputados federais brasileiros – consoante a tipologia do cientista político americano Barry Ames – e a apresentação de emendas ao orçamento. A hipótese é de que deputados federais com bases concentradas e/ou dominantes trabalham para angariar mais recursos, com o objetivo de manter a conexão eleitoral. Os resultados nos mostram que, embora, em alguns casos, a trajetória política forneça evidências que confirmam essa hipótese, as emendas parlamentares destinadas às bases eleitorais dos deputados estudados representam uma pequena parte do total apresentado. _________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThe individual parliamentary amendments are commonly associated with distributive policies, used as bargaining chip by politicians concerned with re-election. Using the results of the Brazilian elections of 2006 and the budgetary data, the present study aims to examine whether there is a close association between the voting patterns in Brazil – according to the American political scientist Barry Ames – and the presentation of amendments. The hypothesis is that deputies with concentrated and dominant bases raises more resources, in order to keep the electoral connection.
