Para tanto, trouxemos o debate acerca dos principais conceitos atrelados à relação do Estado com a Sociedade Civil, analisamos a conjuntura em que os movimentos sociais se apresentaram ao longo do Século XX no Brasil, bem como apresentamos um panorama da realidade atual dos movimentos sociais. Explicitamos também, a direção teórica-metodológica, ético-política que direcionaram a prática interventiva das(os) assistentes sociais ao longo da história da profissão, destacando as experiências dessas(es) profissionais junto aos movimentos sociais. Como procedimentos metodológicos, utilizamos revisão de literatura e pesquisa bibliográfica, a partir das palavras chaves: sociedade civil, movimentos sociais, práticas interventivas da(o) Assistente Social. Cabe destacar que a pesquisa bibliográfica foi realizada a partir dos trabalhos publicados no CBAS de 2016 acerca do eixo temático movimentos sociais, visando a compreensão da relação das(os) assistentes sociais com os movimentos sociais, com ênfase na dimensão prática-interventiva, destacando os relatos de experiências de profissionais que atuavam junto às organizações coletivas. To that end, we brought the debate about the main concepts linked to the relationship between the State and Civil Society, analyzed the social movements in the twentieth century in Brazil, and presented a panorama of the current reality of social movements. We also explained the theoretical-methodological, ethical-political direction that guided the interventionist practice of social workers throughout the history of the profession, highlighting the experiences of these professionals with the social movements. As methodological procedures, we used literature review and bibliographical research, from the key words: civil society, social movements, interventionist practices of the Social Worker. It should be noted that the bibliographic research was carried out based on the works published in the CBAS of 2016 about the thematic axis social movements, aiming at understanding the relationship of social workers with social movements, with emphasis on the practicalintervention dimension, highlighting the reports of experiences of professionals who worked with collective organizations.
