A violência é um fenômeno complexo e multicausal, extremamente relacionado às expressões da questão social. Considerando que as expressões da questão social constituem o pilar sobre o qual o Serviço Social direciona sua intervenção, observamos que as manifestações da violência, em algumas situações, também conformam ponto de partida para o exercício profissional. Por se tratar de um tema complexo e inexplorado no âmbito do Serviço Social, o estudo a respeito da SMP é importante no sentido de trazer visibilidade ao tema no campo acadêmico e propiciar o debate da atuação profissional do Serviço Social frente a esta demanda. Também se justifica pela necessidade da produção do conhecimento apoiado em diversas perspectivas, pois grande parte das bibliografias disponíveis se localiza na área da saúde. Como estratégias metodológicas neste estudo qualitativo de cunho exploratório, foi realizada a pesquisa em estudos e em documentações relativas à temática e, também entrevista semiestruturada com a Assistente Social do Programa de Pesquisa, Assistência e Vigilância em Violência (PAV) Violeta, situado no Hospital Materno Infantil de Brasília (HMIB) da Secretaria de Estado de Saúde do Distrito Federal (SES/DF). Foram tomados cuidados éticos. A análise dos dados foi distribuída em cinco etapas: organização e preparação dos dados para análise; leitura completa dos dados; codificação dos dados obtidos; análise e interpretação dos dados coletados; redação da monografia. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstraram que o profissional de Serviço Social pode desenvolver diversas possibilidades, competências e estratégias de intervenção em casos de SMP. Além disso, este estudo abarcou o panorama geral acerca da violência, o atendimento a violência no campo do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) e a caracterização geral da SMP. ____________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThis course conclusion work aims to analyze the possibilities of action of social work with children perpetrated by those responsible diagnosed with Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy (MSP), a specific type of violence. Violence is a complex and multi-causal phenomenon, very related to the expressions of the social question. Considering that expressions of social issues are the pillar on which the Social Services direct its intervention, we observe that the manifestations of violence also form the starting point for the professional exercise. Because it is a complex and unexplored issue within the Social Service, the study regarding the MSP is important in order to bring visibility to the subject in the academic field and to promote the debate of the professional practice of Social Service to forward this demand. The study about the MSP is also justified by the necessity of production of knowledge supported by diverse perspectives, as most bibliographies available are located in the health sector. As methodological strategies in this qualitative study of exploratory nature, was carried out research studies and documentation related to the theme and it was also made a semi-structured interview with the Social Worker of the Violence Research Assistance and Surveillance Program Violet, located in the Hospital Breast Children of Brasilia of the State Secretariat of Health of the Federal District. Ethical concerns were taken. Data analysis was divided into five stages: preparation and organization of data for analysis; full reading of the data; encoding the data obtained; analysis and interpretation of collected data; writing the monograph. The survey results showed that the social worker can develop different possibilities, skills and intervention strategies in cases of MSP.
