É uma patologia reversível e uma das complicações mais comuns do ambiente hospitalar, cuja incidência varia de acordo com a gravidade do paciente. Objetivo: Identificar a recuperação da função renal, em pacientes com lesão renal aguda com e sem tratamento hemodialítico, admitidos na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva do Hospital Regional do Gama. Método: Trata-se de um estudo observacional prospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa com 109 pacientes da Unidade de Terapia Intensiva adulta do Hospital Regional do Gama (HRG) do Distrito Federal (DF) por um período de 6 meses, compreendido entre os meses de janeiro à junho de 2015. Resultados: Dos 109 pacientes, 19 eram do grupo dialítico, 78,9% dos pacientes eram de raça parda, a maioria do sexo feminino (52,6%), com média de idade e do índice de massa corporal (IMC) de 5419 anos e 24,8 kg/m², enquanto que o grupo sem necessidade de tratamento dialítico foi representado por 90 pacientes com características similares ao grupo dialítico, no que se refere a idade e o IMC médios foram de 55 21 anos e 24,6 kg/m², respectivamente. A raça parda foi predominante (54,4%), no entanto, neste grupo a maioria foi do sexo masculino (52,2%). Entre os dois grupos, o dialítico apresentou como desfecho clínico, a maior taxa de óbito (73,7%). Ao contrário do grupo dialítico, a maioria (61,1%) dos pacientes que não necessitaram de tratamento dialítico obteve alta como desfecho clínico (p=0,009) e o valor médio de SAPS III foi um pouco menos elevado (68,312,2) no grupo não dialítico em relação ao dialítico (83,0  10,2) e essa associação foi significativa (p=0,0001). It is a reversible condition, and one of the most common complications of the hospital environment, the incidence varies according to the severity of the patient. Objective: To identify the recovery of renal function in patients with acute kidney injury with and without hemodialysis, admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Regional Hospital Gama. Method: This was a prospective observational study with a quantitative approach with 109 patients in the adult intensive care unit of the Regional Gama Hospital (HRG) of the Federal District (DF) for a period of 6 months, between the months of January to June 2015. Results: Of the 109 patients, 19 were dialysis group, 78.9% of patients were mulattos, most women (52.6%) with mean age and body mass index (BMI) 5419 of years and 24.8 kg / m², while in the group without the need for dialysis was represented by 90 patients with characteristics similar to dialysis group, in regard to age and BMI mean 2155 and 24.6 kg / m², respectively. The brown race was predominant (54.4%), however, this group most were male (52.2%). Between the two groups, the dialysis presented as a clinical outcome, the highest death rate (73.7%). Unlike the dialysis group, the majority (61.1%) of patients who did not require dialysis treatment was discharged as a clinical outcome (p = 0.009) and the mean value of SAPS III was slightly lower (68,312 2) in the non-dialysis group compared to dialysis (83.0  10.2) and this association was significant (p = 0.0001).
