Como hipótese acredita-se que a UHE impactou a comunidade de Luzimangues, modificando as relações da população com a natureza, com os recursos naturais e as estruturas socioeconômicas da comunidade e as formas de vivência do cotidiano. Como métodos optamos pela aplicação de questionário para 35 famílias reassentadas com a finalidade de conhecer o perfil socioeconômico da comunidade (como renda, faixa etária, escolaridade entre outas), o perfil sociocultural e saber como era o acesso ao rio Tocantins, antes da formação do lago e da usina e como é, hoje, o acesso ao referido lago. Conclui-se que houve diversos impactos ambientais, culturais e socioeconômicos, como as altas temperaturas, as terras inférteis e a altas taxas de impostos. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThis work analyzes the sociocultural impacts on the community of Luzimangues, district of Porto Nacional, since 2000, due to the formation of the lake of the Hydroeletric Power Station (Usina Hidroelétrica - UHE) Luís Eduardo Magalhães, built in 2001, by INVESTCO S.A. The hypothesis is that the UHE impacted the community, changing the relations of the population to the nature, to the natural resources and the socioeconomic structures of th community and its day-by-day living. A questionnaire – applied to 35 resettled families – was chosen as a method. It made possible to know the socioeconomic profile of the community (as income, age bracket, schooling and others), the sociocultural profile, as well as to know how they accessed the Tocantins River before the formation of the lake and the UHE, and how it happens today.
