Em operações em alto mar, risers possuem um papel fundamental, pois através deles, e somente deles, as embarcações se comunicam com o leito submarino para perfurar, instalar equipamentos e extrair hidrocarbonetos. Neste contexto, o presente trabalho apresenta uma modelagem para o comportamento destes sistemas a fim de propor uma estratégia de controle de trajetória para o seu posicionamento no leito marinho. As equações governantes obtidas a partir das forças que atuam no sistema são simplificadas e obtém-se uma solução que permita relacionar matematicamente o movimento das duas extremidades do riser. Isto permite que se saiba como deve se movimentar a embarcação para movimentar a extremidade inferior da maneira desejada. As soluções obtidas são verificadas através de uma simulação do sistema discretizado pelo método de diferenças finitas. A capacidade de prever o comportamento deste tipo de sistema permite operá-lo com maior rapidez e numa mais ampla gama de condições climáticas. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThe exploration of oil reservoirs in offshore locations is currently a common practice and demands great ammounts of investiment due to the technological challenges that come along. Risers play a fundamental role in offshore operations, for they allow communication between the seabed and offshore vessels for drilling, equipment installation and oil extraction operations. In this context, this study presents the development of a model for riser systems in order to propose a trajectory control strategy to its bottom end. The governing equations obtained from the forces present on the system are simplified and we obtain a solution that yelds a mathematical relation between top and bottom displacements. This allows one to determine the precise movement of the vessel in order to obtain the desired displacement of the bottom end. The solutions are verified through a numerical simulation of the system with the finite difference method.
