Neste trabalho busca-se compreender a recepção da literatura amadiana no sistema literário dos Estados Unidos e da União Soviética, no contexto da Guerra Fria. Para tanto, propôs-se o diálogo entre as Relações Internacionais e a Literatura. Desta, empregaram-se as teses da Escola de Constança (Estética da Recepção) em sua centralidade do leitor empírico e sua preocupação metodológica de se proceder a análise do horizonte de expectativas e a recepção, em nível histórico e estético, que cercam uma obra literária. Enquanto das RI, levou-se em consideração as teorias de inspiração sociológica que servissem a entender a recepção das obras, sobretudo dos estudos pós-coloniais e feministas. A partir desse diálogo teórico, baseia-se a análise da recepção de Gabriela, clove and cinnamon (1962) nos EUA e de Capitães da Areia (1976) na União Soviética, de forma a primeiro reconstruir o horizonte de expectativas e, em seguida, analisar a recepção de ambos os casos. This paper seeks to understand the reception of Amadian literature in the United States and the Soviet Union literary systems, during the Cold War. For that, I propose the dialogue between International Relations and Literature. From Literature, the School of Constance’s theses were used in its centrality of the empirical reader and its methodological concern to proceed to the horizon of expectations analysis and the reception analysis, from a historical and aesthetic level. While from the IR, theories of sociological inspiration were taken into account, especially from postcolonial and feminist studies. The analysis of the reception of Gabriela, Clove and Cinnamon (1962) in the USA and Captains of Sand (1976) in the Soviet Union is based on this theoretical dialogue, in order to first reconstruct the horizon of expectations and then analyze the reception in both cases.
