Além de analisar o amor como prática social desde suas origens a suas transformações. O levantamento de dados foi feito em duas etapas. Primeiramente foi realizada uma revisão da literatura, relatando o amor no contexto sócio-histórico segundo a Filosofia e a História. Foram analisados também, artigos científicos a respeito do amor na sociedade enquanto causador de sofrimento, com levantamento dos periódicos nas bases de dados SciELO e BVS – Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde de 2002 a 2012. Foram utilizados os seguintes descritores: amor, amor e violência, amor e dependência, amor e ciúme, dor de amor, amor patológico. Dentre os critérios de inclusão foram inseridos artigos científicos completos, em Língua Portuguesa, que abordavam o sentimento amor como prática social e o processo saúde-doença relacionado à virtude amor. A análise crítica foi feita através da abordagem exploratória com o objetivo de aprimoramento de ideias e a descoberta de intuições, com natureza qualitativa das relações sociais e orientado pela metodologia hermenêutica. Que o presente trabalho seja um novo conhecimento e uma forma de ajuda aos que se identificarem com o objeto de estudo e que sirva de base a outros profissionais da saúde para que, ao lidarem com esse tipo de situação, remetam-se a esta pesquisa e sintam-se motivados a iniciar novos estudos com este tema. ____________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThis research sought to understand the love as a virtue to cause suffering at present and discuss the risk of pathologizing feeling. Besides analyzing the love as social practice from its origins to its transformation. The data collection was done in two steps. First a literature review was performed, reporting the love in the socio - historical context according to the Philosophy and History. Virtual Health Library 2002-2012 - scientific articles about love in society while causing suffering to a survey of journals in the SciELO and VHL data were also analyzed. Love, love and violence, love and addiction, love and jealousy, pain of love, pathological love: The following descriptors were used. Among the inclusion criteria were entered full scientific articles in Portuguese, which addressed the feeling love as social practice and the health-disease process related to love virtue. The review was made by exploratory approach with the aim of improving ideas and discovering insights, qualitative nature of social and guided by hermeneutic methodology relations.
