Todavia, em virtude de atividades antrópicas, as áreas de nascentes hídricas do Cerrado têm sofrido considerável impacto ambiental. Apesar da proteção via legislação ambiental, a vegetação ripária de nascentes são submetidas à redução gradativa para a abertura de áreas agrícolas. A recuperação ambiental dessas áreas é necessária e se traduz em um conjunto de ações planejadas, contidas no projeto de recuperação de áreas degradadas (PRAD). O presente trabalho foi conduzido em uma área de zona riparia degradada de uma nascente localizada no Assentamento Itaúna - Goiás e teve o objetivo de monitorar a área em recuperação e subsidiar futuros projetos de recuperação de áreas degradadas no assentamento Itaúna. No processo de recuperação da vegetação da nascente, foram plantadas 800 mudas de 27 espécies botânicas nativas de Cerrado (novembro de 2011), das quais 350 indivíduos de 14 espécies foram selecionados aleatoriamente para a avaliação do crescimento inicial e sobrevivência. O monitoramento do plantio foi realizado durante 21 meses, em quatro períodos de intervalos periódicos (3, 9, 15 e 21 meses após plantio). Considerando a sobrevivência e o crescimento das espécies avaliadas, as mais indicadas para plantio em projetos de recuperação de áreas degradadas na poligonal do assentamento, foram Byrsonima coccobifolia, Inga laurina, Tachigali subvelutina, Alibertia macrophylla, Hancornia speciosa, e Tocoyena formosa. Dos 350 indivíduos monitorados, 199 sobreviveram, sendo que a taxa de sobrevivência foi de 57% no final do 4o período de monitoramento. __________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThe major river basins of the country originate in the Cerrado. However, due to anthropogenic activities, the areas of water springs in the Cerrado biome have suffered considerable environmental impacts. Despite the protection by environmental legislation, the riparian vegetation springs are subjected to gradual reduction to open agricultural areas. The environment restoration of these areas is a necessity and translates into a set of planned actions, contained in the project of restoration of degraded areas. (PRAD) The present work was conducted in the Cerrado biome, in degraded riparian zone from a spring located in the Assentamento Itaúna - Goiás and aimed to monitor the area in recovery and support future restoration projects of degraded areas in Itaúna settlement. In the process of recovery of the spring vegetation were planted 800 seedlings of 27 plant species of native cerrado (November 2011), in which 350 individuals of 14 species were randomly selected for the evaluation of the initial growth and survival. Monitoring planting was carried out for 22 months in four periods of periodic intervals (4, 9, 15 and 21 months after planting). Considering the survival and growth of species assessed, the most suitable for planting in recovery projects of degraded areas in the polygon of the settlement were Byrsonima coccobifolia, Inga laurina, Tachigali subvelutina, Alibertia macrophylla, Hancornia speciosa and Tocoyena Formosa.
