A reabilitação envolve mínima intervenção cirúrgica para colocação dos implantes e resulta, em sua grande maioria, em um ganho estético satisfatório após a instalação das próteses. Neste relato, foram comparados dois casos clínicos, cujas técnicas cirúrgicas utilizadas para a instalação dos implantes foram diferentes quanto à preservação da musculatura e tecido adiposo da região sobre o processo mastoide. A reabilitação seguiu com procedimentos de moldagem, provas e confecção de prótese em silicone, associada à sistema barra-clipe. Foram observados resultados favoráveis quanto à estética, contudo, a reação tecidual perimplantar foi distinta para os dois casos apresentados. Para o caso em que os tecidos muscular e adiposo foram mantidos, o processo inflamatório se deu de forma crônica, por outro lado, para o caso em que os tecidos foram reduzidos, houve remissão dessa condição inflamatória. The rehabilitation involves minimal surgical intervention regarding the implant placement, resulting in a satisfactory aesthetic gain after the prosthesis installation. In this report, two cases with different surgical techniques - concerning the muscle and fat tissue preservation - were compared. Rehabilitation followed with molding procedures, test and manufacture of silicone prosthesis, associated with bar-clip system. Results with favorable aesthetics were compared, however the peri-implant tissue reaction was different for the two shown cases. In the case with the muscle and fat tissues preservation, the inflammatory process occurred chronically, on the other hand, in the case with tissue reduction, occurred remission of the inflammatory condition.
