Aos poucos o turismo literário começa a ganhar espaço e se destaca como uma opção de turismo para aqueles que já “viajavam” antes através das obras literárias, assim, esta modalidade se torna um meio de conhecer diferentes espaços nos quais a narrativa foi inspirada ou acontece, e até mesmo espaços atribuídos ao autor destas narrativas. Este estudo tem por objetivo geral verificar as influências do turismo, associado à literatura (e tudo que a envolve), na ressignificação dos espaços urbanos da Escócia. Para tal tem-se como objeto de análise as obras Harry Potter e a Pedra Filosofal e Outlander: A Viajante no Tempo, além de diversos espaços relacionados a elas na Escócia, país o qual sua capital foi nomeada como “Cidade Literária” pela UNESCO. Tendo isso em vista, utilizou-se de uma pesquisa eminentemente qualitativa, de cunho exploratório e bibliográfico, a fim de debater e conectar os conceitos de turismo, turismo cultural, turismo literário, imaginário e ressignificação dos espaços urbanos. Nos capítulos 1 e 2 são debatidas as principais definições relacionadas ao tema da pesquisa (que foram citados anteriormente) e no capítulo 3 é realizado a caracterização da Escócia, enquanto recorte espacial da pesquisa, e de sua relação com a literatura, além de analisar os lugares literários relacionados às autoras J. K Rowling e Diana Gabaldon, a partir de suas obras. Assim, ao final da pesquisa, pôde-se concluir que a literatura pode ser um motivador para a ressignificação dos espaços pelo turismo. Gradually, literary tourism begins to gain space and stands out as a tourism option for those who have already “traveled” before through the books, thusly, this modality becomes a means of discovering different spaces in which the narrative of the books was inspired or happens, and even spaces attributed to the author of these narratives. The general objective of this study is to verify the influences of tourism, associated with literature (and everything that involves it), in the redefinition of Scotland's urban spaces. For this purpose, we have as objects of analysis the books of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Outlander, as well as several spaces related to them in Scotland, the country whose capital was named “Literary City” by UNESCO. With this in mind, an eminently qualitative research was used, of an exploratory and bibliographic nature, in order to debate and connect the concepts of tourism, cultural tourism, literary tourism, imaginary and redefinition of urban spaces. In chapters 1 and 2 is discussed the main definitions related to the research topic (which were previously mentioned) and in chapter 3 the characterization of Scotland is carried out, as a spatial part of the research, and its relationship with the literature, in addition to analyzing the literary places related to the authors J. K Rowling and Diana Gabaldon, from their works. Thusly, at the end of the research, it was concluded that literature can be a motivator for the redefinition of spaces by tourism.
