Além disso, busca ilustrar aplicações dessa metodologia de ensino e as vantagens decorrentes dela. Para fundamentar a pesquisa qualitativa, realizamos um estudo bibliográfico sobre o tema, na perspectiva da sociolinguística educacional. Também, com o propósito de desenvolver abordagens práticas na pesquisa analisando um contexto educacional, utilizamos dados do relatório final de prática docente em uma turma do curso de extensão Ler com prazer e escrever sem medo: habilidades linguísticas em leitura e produção de textos, oferecido em 2011 pela Universidade de Brasília/Cespe Interação e voltado a alunos do Ensino Fundamental e Médio. A partir da atuação como docente do curso, foram reunidos dados pertinentes à discussão teórica e com base neles discutidos aspectos importantes do ensino de língua portuguesa. Os resultados iniciais do estudo sugerem que o desenvolvimento das habilidades linguísticas dos alunos requer um trabalho voltado tanto ao ensino gramatical, como à produção textual e à leitura.
