Busca-se definir tais elementos que condicionaram o acesso delas à esfera política, discutir cada um deles e apresenta-los por meio de dois estudos de caso acerca da ascensão ao poder das primeiras-ministras da Índia e do Paquistão, Indira Gandhi e Benazir Bhutto, respectivamente. Com a análise de tais elementos, portanto, pode-se defender a importância de facilitadores individuais para a chegada de líderes mulheres em altos cargos políticos. Em conclusão, demonstra-se que o maior peso dado a características e atributos pessoais dessas líderes reflete uma trajetória política altamente elitista e dinástica das mulheres que atingem tais posições de poder. _________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThis work has the intention to make a theoretical review of the literature about female political leaderships in South Asia, as well as investigate the role of elements, or facilitators, that encourage the participation and representation of women in the region. It also seeks to define these elements that influenced their access to the public sphere, discuss each one and present them through two case studies about the rise to power of India and Pakistan prime ministers, Indira Gandhi and Benazir Bhutto, respectively. By the analysis of such elements, it can be argued the importance of individual facilitators for the arrival of women leaders in high political offices.
