O objetivo é que a integridade estrutural do chassi seja garantida durante toda a sua vida útil. Foi realizada uma revisão dos conceitos de fadiga e dos principais modelos de determinação de vida à fadiga sob as abordagens de vida sob tensão S-N e vida sob deformação ε-N. Em seguida foram investigados os principais parâmetros que podem influenciar no limite de fadiga sob as condições esperadas durante a utilização do veículo. Foram estudados ainda métodos para a avaliação de estruturas sob carregamentos de amplitude variável: o método Rainflow para contagem de ciclos e a regra de Palmgren-Miner para acúmulo de dano. Os requisitos de resistência do chassi foram levantados a partir da análise do regulamento que rege as competições BAJA SAE Brasil. Uma metodologia para a análise da vida à fadiga foi proposta e foi criada uma rotina em linguagem Pascal para calcular o dano em uma estrutura em decorrência de um histórico de carregamentos completamente aleatório. The main goal is to ensure that the integrity of the structure is maintained throughout its lifespan. A literature review of the fatigue concepts and models to predict fatigue life using stress-life and strain-life methods. Then, the main factors that can modify the fatigue strength under the expected conditions of the vehicle operation were investigated. Methods to evaluate fatigue life under a variable amplitude loading case were studied: the Rainflow method for cycle counting and the Palmgren-Miner rule to calculate the degree of cumulative damage. The requirements elicitation was made through the study of the BAJA SAE Brasil competition rules. A proposition for a methodology of fatigue life analysis was made and a routine in Pascal language was written to calculate the damage caused by a completely random loading history in a structure.
