A água doce do mundo não está distribuída uniformemente pelo Globo, o que compromete desde questões ligadas à saúde até as ligadas à economia de uma nação. Além dessa distribuição não uniforme, o crescimento exponencial da população e o aumento das atividades de caráter poluidor comprometem o acesso da população a esse recurso tão essencial à vida. Outro problema essencial a ser resolvido, principalmente nos países em desenvolvimento, é o tratamento dos esgotos urbanos e industriais e o saneamento básico nas cidades como o único caminho para a conservação dos recursos hídricos e para evitar a veiculação de doenças pela água. Por todas essas questões levantadas, o consumo per capita de águas envasadas vem crescendo tanto no Brasil quanto no resto do mundo. To fresh water of the world it is not distributed evenly by the Globe, what commits from linked subjects to the health until the linked ones to the economy of a nation. Besides that distribution no uniform, the exponential growth of the population and the increase of the activities of pollutant character commit the access of the population to such essential resource to the life. Another essential problem to be solved, mainly in the developing countries, it is the treatment of the urban and industrial sewers and the basic sanitation in the cities as the only road for the conservation of the liquid resources and to avoid the transmission of diseases for the water. For all those lifted up subjects, the per capita consumption of waters is growing in Brazil and in the rest of the world.
