Mas após a construção da capital do País e seu território sendo transferido ao DF, ocorreu um grande impacto nas relações sociais e na organização espacial da cidade. Sobretudo, vinculadas à chegada de milhares de pessoas e aos ideais modernistas. Posto isso, o objetivo do trabalho é compreender quais são as percepções que os moradores locais possuem acerca da Planaltina e a sua relação com o desenvolvimento do Turismo Cultural no município. A pesquisa se dividiu no marco teórico sobre Patrimônio Cultural e o Turismo, a historicidade da região, a apropriação e identidade dos moradores, sendo finalizada com a análise do cenário do turismo cultural da cidade. Foram utilizadas 3 técnicas de pesquisa: pesquisa bibliográfica; formulário e entrevistas com atores políticos e sociais de Planaltina/DF. Em suma, a partir da pesquisa foi possível apreender que a identidade, a memória e o patrimônio são os aliados na retomada do vínculo das pessoas com a cidade. A partir do resgate das memórias dos moradores locais existe um cenário positivo para a restauração das identidades culturais e a aproximação da população do seu local de vivência, tornando-os coparticipantes no resgate a na preservação dos seus bens culturais. Além disso, não foi possível apontar um ou dois elementos que dificultam a estruturação da atividade turística em Planaltina. But after the construction of the country’s capital and its territory being transferred to Distrito Federal, there was a great impact on social relations and in the geographical organization of the city. Above all, associated with the arrival of thousands of people and the modernist ideals. That being said, the objective of this work is to comprehend what are the feelings that the local inhabitants have about Planaltina and its relation with the development in the cultural tourism in the region. The research was divided between the theoretical symbol about Cultural Heritage and tourism, the historicity of the region, the ownership and identity of the local residents, being concluded with the analysis of the city’s cultural tourism scenario. Three techniques were used in this research: bibliographic research; questionnaires, and interviews with political and social actors from Planaltina/DF. In conclusion, from the research it was possible to apprehend that identity, memory and heritage are the allies in the rebirth of people’s bond with the city. From the recovery of memories of local inhabitants there is a positive scenario for the restoration of cultural identities and the approximation of the population to their place of living, making them co-participants in the salvage of preservation of its cultural assets. Furthermore, it was not possible to identify one or two elements that make it difficult to structure tourist activity in Planaltina.
