Resumo: Given the globalized (KUMARAVADIVELU, 2006a, 2006b; CANAGARAJAH, 2005), hypersemiotized (FABRÍCIO, 2006) and marketed (FABRÍCIO; SANTOS, 2006; FAIRCLOUGH, 1992) nature of the contemporary world, English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) becomes a promise of agency in an imagined community (ANDERSON, 2008 [1991]). As the expansion of ELF translates into a form of globalized localism (SOUSA SANTOS, 1997), insurgent alternatives propose to reframe this language as a space/instrument for cosmopolitanism acts (SOUSA SANTOS, 1997). This article aims to investigate the contributions of a pedagogical instrument, titled Critical Multiliteracies Thematic Project (CMTP), which has been designed in light of the critical sociointeractional literacy pedagogy (TILIO, 2015, 2017, 2019), which is based on learning through multiliteracies (THE NEW LONDON GROUP, 1996), aiming at the development of citizenship. Our object of analysis, conceived in an extension project, consists of an open profile, collaboratively built by author-students, on Instagram, in response to the CMTP named @WeAreBrazilianVoices. Throughout our investigation, we aim to collect and process data generated in the profile and interpret them in light of concepts derived from the Bakhtin Circle. In broad terms, we observed that the CMTP model may contribute to a language education more ethically committed to a potential interventionist use of ELF.

Throughout our investigation, we aim to collect and process data generated in the profile and interpret them in light of concepts derived from the Bakhtin Circle. In broad terms, we observed that the CMTP model may contribute to a language education more ethically committed to a potential interventionist use of ELF.Dado o cenário globalizado (KUMARAVADIVELU, 2006a, 2006b; CANAGARAJAH, 2005), hiper-semiotizado (FABRÍCIO, 2006) e mercadologizado (FABRÍCIO; SANTOS, 2006; FAIRCLOUGH, 1992) do mundo contemporâneo, o Inglês como Lingua Franca (ILF) vincula-se à promessa de participação em uma comunidade imaginada (ANDERSON, 2008 [1991]).
