The learnings of the political struggle: the militant trajectories of women in the MTST

Resumo: Political engagement is constituted, among other factors, by the educational processes experienced in the dynamics of political movements. In this article, we will discuss the nuances and specificities of the learning experiences of women militants of the Homeless Workers' Movement in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, in three distinct stages: the encounter with the MTST; the involvement in the struggle; and the continuity of militancy beyond the conquest of housing. The article is based on the results of a qualitative research approach, which collected data from in-depth biographical interviews and observation of the spaces of political action of these women, between 2015 and 2018.

Aquí discutiremos los matices y especificidades de las experiencias de aprendizaje de las mujeres militantes del Movimiento de los Trabajadores Sin Techo en la Región Metropolitana de São Paulo, en tres etapas distintas: el encuentro con el MTST; la participación activa; y la continuidad después del acceso à la casa. El artículo se basa en los resultados de un enfoque de investigación cualitativa, con entrevistas biográficas en profundidad y de la observación de los espacios de acción política de estas mujeres, entre 2015 y 2018.O engajamento político se constitui, entre outros fatores, pelos processos educativos vivenciados na dinâmica dos movimentos políticos. Neste artigo, discutiremos as nuances e especificidades dos aprendizados vivenciados por mulheres militantes do Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem-teto da Região Metropolitana de São Paulo, em três etapas distintas: o encontro com o MTST; o envolvimento na luta; e a continuidade da militância depois do acesso à casa própria.
