Resumo: A sample of 102 air traffic controllers (ATCOs) were interviewedin order to establish the specific tasks these professionals performin Brazil. A brief historical view of this profession in Brazil is presented.The tasks performed by the ATCOs amount to 87, which were groupedaround 17 activities and four major groups of activities. Also, 12 factorscovering the necessary requirements (physiological, technical, etc.) forproperly performing those tasks were established.
