Resumo: Based both on the literature and the professional experienceof the author, the role of the psychologist in rehabilitation istreated basically on two levels: prevention and therapy. The psychologistcontributes to the humanization of the hospitals and rehabilitationcenters and deals not only with the individual in rehabilitation (consideredas a sexual being, inserted in a family, social and institutional context),but also with the members of the rehabilitation team, attemptingto make the whole institutional structure therapeutic.
