Aknowledgement and application of the 2030 Agenda in archives of Federal Institutions of Higher Education of the South of Brazil

Resumo: The 2030 Agenda, published by United Nations (UN) in the year of 2015, consists of a remarkable document on promoting actions for sustainable development, involving social, economic and environmental aspects. Composed by seventeen Sustainable Development Objectives (ODS), it embraces subjects such as poverty eradication, qualified education and public access to information. It is perceived that such elements relate, direct or indirectly, to activities developed by archives. Therefore, the aim of this study is to verify if the archives of Federal Institutions of Higher Education (IFES) of the South of Brazil, through their professionals, have any knowledge about the 2030 Agenda. The methods for developing the research were guided by consulting publications on the subject and collecting data in institutions. The results indicate that the unfamiliarity about the 2030 Agenda prevails in a lot of units. The conclusion is that this unfamiliarity making it harder to stablish an objective relation between the archives´ activities with the promotion of sustainable development proclaimed by the UN’s Agenda.

Compuesta por diecisiete Objetivos de Desarrollo Sustentable (ODS) que abarcan temas como la erradicación de la pobreza, educación de calidad y acceso público a la información. Se identifica que se trata de elementos que se relacionan, directa o indirectamente, con las actividades que realizan los archivos. Así, el objetivo de este estudio fue investigar si los archivos de las Instituciones Federales de Educación Superior (IFES) del sur de Brasil, a través de sus profesionales, poseen conocimiento acerca de la Agenda 2030. Los métodos para desarrollar la investigación fueron realizados consultando publicaciones acerca del tema y recolectando datos en las instituiciones. Los resultados indican que el desconocimiento acerca de la Agenda 2030 prevalece aún en muchos archivos. Se concluye que este desconocimiento dificulta el establecimiento de una relación objetiva entre las actividades de los archivos con la promoción del desarrollo sustentable preconizado por la Agenda de la ONU.A Agenda 2030, publicada pela Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU) no ano de 2015, constitui-se em um documento de referência na promoção de ações para o desenvolvimento sustentável, envolvendo aspectos sociais, econômicos e ambientais. Composta por dezessete Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) que abrangem temas como a erradicação da pobreza, educação de qualidade e acesso público à informação. Identifica-se que são elementos que se relacionam, direta ou indiretamente, às atividades desenvolvidas por arquivos. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi averiguar se as unidades de arquivo das Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior (IFES) da região sul do Brasil, por meio dos seus profissionais, possuem conhecimento sobre a Agenda 2030. Os métodos para desenvolvimento da pesquisa pautaram-se na consulta a publicações sobre o tema e coleta de dados nas instituições. Os resultados indicam que o desconhecimento sobre a Agenda 2030 ainda prevalece em muitas unidades de arquivo.
