Libraries of the Duke of Bailén and the Marqués de Riscal: research process that completes the work and study of a valuable old fund

Resumo: The libraries of the Duke of Bailén and the Marquis of Riscal are part of the ancient collection conserved in the Library of the National Institute of Health Management (INGESA). Both collections are being studied in parallel, considering that the nobles and bibliophiles shared for a time the residents known as the Palace of Portugalete, leaving their collections united in a magnificent well-differentiated collection. Due to historical circumstances, the complete collection passed to the State and is still preserved in the institution. The arduous task of bringing the two collections to light at the same time means that a double and meticulous job is carried out with the intention of closing the investigation, begun years ago, of the entire old collection of INGESA, so unknown to the most and at the same time so valuable.

Ambas colecciones se están estudiando en paralelo habida cuenta que los mencionados nobles y bibliófilos compartieron durante un tiempo la residencia conocida como Palacio de Portugalete, quedando sus fondos unidos en una magnífica colección bien diferenciada. Por circunstancias históricas la colección completa pasó al Estado y sigue conservada en la citada institución. La ardua tarea que supone sacar a la luz las dos colecciones a la vez, hace que se lleve a cabo un doble y minucioso trabajo con la intención de cerrar la investigación, iniciada hace años, de todo el fondo antiguo del INGESA, tan desconocido para la mayoría y a la vez tan valioso.As bibliotecas do Duque de Bailén e do Marquês de Riscal fazem parte do antigo acervo conservado na Biblioteca do Instituto Nacional de Gestão da Saúde (INGESA). Ambas as coleções estão a ser estudadas em paralelo, dado que os referidos nobres e bibliófilos partilharam durante algum tempo a residência conhecida por Paço de Portugalete, deixando as suas colecções unidas numa magnífica coleção bem diferenciada. Por circunstâncias históricas, o acervo completo passou para o Estado e ainda se encontra preservado na referida instituição.
