Resumo: This article defends the idea that Weber developed, in his work, a therapyfor modernity in the sense that he postulated an alternative to the loss ofmeaning of individual conduct within the “iron prison”. Based on the weberianuse of “ideal types”, the author concentrates his argument around two new figures:the “specialist-with-spirit” and the “man of-pleasure-with-heart”, whosemission is the salvation of inauthentic routines. United as to their objective, thesetwo figures diverge with respect to the means employed to attain it, acting,respectively, in the esthetic and the erotic spheres, and are exemplified by theartist and the lover.

Se basant sur la méthodologiede types ideaux, I’auteur concentre son argumentation autour de deux personnagesnouveaux: !e“spécialiste-avec-esprit” et “l'home-de-plaisir-aveccoeur”,chargés de sauver les routines inauthentiques. Unies par leur objectif,ces deux figures divergent quant aux moyens de 1‘atteindre. Elies agissent, respectivement,dans les sphères esthétique et érotique, et sont exemplifiées parTartiste et 1‘amant.Este artigo defende a tese de que Weber desenvolveu, em sua obra, uma“terapia” da modernidade, no sentido de postular uma alternativa à perda desentido da conduta individual na “jaula de ferro". Utilizando-se weberianamentede tipos ideais, o autor concentra sua argumentação em torno de duas novaspersonagens: o “especialista-com-espírito” e o “homem-do-prazer-com-coração",encarregados da salvação das rotinas inautênticas.
