Resumo: An overview of recent research in Rural Sociology at the University ofBrasilia provides the basis for presenting a proposal of theoretical constructionfor the analysis of agricultural technology. The author underlines the importanceof widening the very concept of technology, considering it as a process withmultiple dinensions, generating economic, political and ideological implications.The far-reaching scope of the article comprehends the role of the State in theproduction and diffusion of new technologies as well as the landowners' andworkers’ reactions to the introduction of innovations in agriculture - including thespecific case of women as rural workers.

Dans ce sens,Cauteur souligne fimportance de 1'élargissement du concept même de technologiepour le situer comme un processus de dimensions multiples, avec implicationséconomiques, politiques et idéologiques. La portée assez large de cette discussioncomprend le role de I’Etat dans la production et diffusion de Ia technologieet Ia réaction des propriétaires et des travailleurs ruraux (y comprises, spécifiquement,les femmes) à I'introduction d'innovations dans I’agriculture.Este artigo faz um balanço da produção recente em Sociologia Rural naUniversidade de Brasilia como base para a apresentação de uma proposta deconstrução téorica para analisar a questão da tecnologia agropecuária. Nestesentido, destaca a ampliação do próprio conceito de tecnologia para situá-lo enquantoprocesso de dimensões múltiplas, com implicações econômicas, políticase ideológicas.
