No Brasil, Melastomataceae é a sexta maior família de angiospermas, com 68 gêneros e mais de 1.500 espécies, distribuídas da Amazônia até o Rio Grande do Sul, colonizando ambientes bastante diversificados. Morfologicamente caracterizam-se por apresentarem folhas simples com nervação acródroma basal ou suprabasal, flores dialipétalas com 4-6 pétalas, cálice gamossépalo; androceu diplostêmone, anteras falciformes e geralmente poricidas, conectivo com ou sem apêndices; ovário 2-5 locular, livre ou totalmente adnato ao hipanto; cápsulas ou bagas, com inúmeras sementes diminutas. No bioma Cerrado, Melastomataceae é a sexta maior família de angiospermas. O objetivo do trabalho é realizar o levantamento das espécies de Melastomataceae que ocorrem no Parque Nacional de Brasília, unidade de conservação pouco conhecida em termos de informações de composição florística. O Parque Nacional de Brasília é classificado como Unidade de Conservação Federal de Proteção Integral e está inserido na região administrativa de Brasília (15°35'-15°45' S, 47°55'-48º55' W) tendo sido criado pelo decreto nº 241, de 29 de novembro de 1961, com 30.000 ha. A flora do Parque é típica do Cerrado apresentando as diversas fitofisionomias deste bioma. O clima é tropical com precipitação média anual de 1.600mm. O levantamento foi baseado em trabalho de campo e consulta aos quatro herbários do Distrito Federal. O trabalho de campo teve a duração de 12 meses, com coletas realizadas de forma aleatória, procurando abranger todas as fitofisionomias. Foram coletadas 4-5 amostras de cada indivíduo com botões florais, flores e/ou frutos. Todo o material coletado foi incorporado ao Herbário CEN. As Melastomataceae estão representadas no Parque Nacional de Brasília por 17 gêneros e 46 espécies, da seguinte forma: Miconia (13 spp.), Microlicia (7 spp.), Tibouchina (5 spp.), Lavoisiera (4 spp.), Cambessedesia (2 spp.), Leandra (2 spp.), Pterolepis (2 spp.) e Trembleya (2 spp.), enquanto que Acisanthera, Chaetostoma, Comolia, Desmoscelis, Macairea, Ossaea, Rhynchanthera, Siphanthera e Tococa estão representadas por uma espécie cada. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTMelastomataceae presents approximately 166 genera and 4500 species, with pantropical distribution, having the higher of species in the new world. In Brazil, Melastomataceae is the sixth family of angiosperms in number of species, with 68 genera and more than 1500 species, distributed in the Amazonia until the Rio Grande do Sul, growing in diversified environments. Morphologically the family is characterized for the simple leaves with acrodromous-basal or acrodromous-suprabasal venation, flowers with 4-6 free petals, gamosepalous calyx; diplostemous androecium, poricide and falciform anthers with connective with or without appendices; ovarium 2-5-locular, totally or partially connate to the hypanthium; capsules or berries, with several small seeds. In the Cerrado biome. Melastomataceae is pointed as the sixth family of angiosperms in number of species. The objective of the present study is to record the species of Melastomataceae that occur in the National Park of Brasilia, a Conservation Unit with few information about its floristic composition. The National Park of Brasilia is classified as a Federal Conservation Unit of Integral Protection and is inserted in the administrative region of Brasilia (15°35'-15°45' S, 47°55'-48º55' W). It was created by the decree nº 241, of 29 of November of 1961, with 30.000 ha. The flora of the Park is typical of the Cerrado biome, presenting the diverse physiognomies of this biome. The climate is tropical with annual average precipitation of 1.600mm. The survey was based on field work and consults to the four herbaria of the Federal District. The field work had the duration of 12months. Four to five samples of each individual with floral buttons, flowers and/or fruits have been collected. All the collected material was incorporated Herbarium CEN.
