Nosso objetivo foi compreender os antecedentes da holística a partir das concepções de hólos na filosofia grega antiga, que podem ter contribuído com os fundamentos da perspectiva holística de Fílon de Alexandria, especialmente na relação de integralidade entre therapeía e areté, bem como os contrastes da areté entre os banquetes helenísticos e terapeutas. Nosso percurso metodológico é de natureza qualitativa com abordagem filosófica hermenêutica, realizada por meio de procedimentos bibliográficos e documental, observando o rigor dos processos de análise, ordem e síntese. Os resultados indicaram que há indícios da ideia de holística na concepção de hólos grego, bem como argumentos consistentes que demonstram a perspectiva holística na filosofia de Fílon de Alexandria, especialmente em questões relacionadas a areté, que são as virtudes, e a therapeía, que são as práticas do cuidar, tratar e servir.Our research is an investigation of the holistic perspective in Philo of Alexandria’s philosophy, having as a preliminary basis of analysis, the conception of hólos in ancient Greek philosophy, then we analyze the integrality between therapeía and areté, and finally we approach the contrasts of areté, between the Hellenistic banquets and therapists. Our aim was to understand the antecedents of holistic thinking from the conceptions of hólos in ancient Greek philosophy, which may have contributed to the foundations of the holistic perspective of Philo of Alexandria, especially in the relationship of integrality between therapeía and areté, as well as the contrasts of areté between the Hellenistic and therapeutic banquets. Our methodological path is of a qualitative nature with a hermeneutic philosophical approach, carried out through bibliographic and documentary procedures, observing the rigor of the processes of analysis, order and synthesis.
