Characterization of rural producers and the productive system of viticulture in the Planalto Norte Catarinense

Resumo: Due to the edaphoclimatic conditions of the Planalto Norte Catarinense, it is understood that this has potential for viticulture. However, information related to grape production is scarce, as well as a characterization of viticulturists and characteristics of the production system. In this context, the objective of the work is to characterize the profile of the wine grower, and characteristics of the production system in the region of Planalto Norte Catarinense. The methodology used in the work was a case study with grape producers in the Planalto Norte Catarinense region. The collection of information took place between the months of June and August 2019, through a questionnaire, being carried out in person with each rural producer. The analysis and interpretation of the data were carried out broadly, correlating with other knowledge and comparing it with other studies. Although the cultivation of the grapevine and its processing have been carried out for years, there is a low volume of these elaborated producers, with grape juice being the most elaborated product. The most cultivated variety in the region is ‘Bordô’, with the horizontal trainning system predominating, with a spacing of 3.0 x 2.0 m. Having the control of pests and diseases as the main obstacle to production, combined with the great diversity of cultivated varieties, the support systems used, and the plant spacing in the vineyard, it is concluded that the activity still lacks research and technical assistance, in order to guide rural producers to adopt the most adapted varieties in cultivation systems that optimize productivity without loss of grape quality. Table wine.  RESUMEN Debido a las condiciones edafoclimáticas del Planalto Norte Catarinense, se entiende que éste tiene potencial para la viticultura. Sin embargo, la información relacionada con la producción de uva es escasa, así como una caracterización de los viticultores y las características del sistema de producción. En este contexto, el objetivo del trabajo es caracterizar el perfil del viticultor y las características del sistema productivo en la región de Planalto Norte Catarinense. La metodología utilizada en el trabajo fue un estudio de caso con productores de uva de la región Planalto Norte Catarinense. La recolección de información se realizó entre los meses de junio y agosto de 2019, a través de un cuestionario, realizándose presencialmente con cada productor rural. El análisis e interpretación de los datos se realizó de forma amplia, correlacionándolos con otros conocimientos y comparándolos con otros estudios. Si bien el cultivo de la vid y su elaboración se realiza desde hace años, existe un volumen bajo de estos productores elaborados, siendo el jugo de uva el producto más elaborado. La variedad más cultivada en la región es Bordô, con predominio del sistema de soporte Latada, con un espaciamiento de 3,0 x 2,0 m. Teniendo el control de plagas y enfermedades como principal obstáculo para la producción, combinado con la gran diversidad de variedades cultivadas, los sistemas de apoyo utilizados y el espaciamiento de plantas en el viñedo, se concluye que la actividad aún carece de investigación y asistencia técnica. con el fin de orientar a los productores rurales a adoptar las variedades más adaptadas en sistemas de cultivo que optimicen la productividad sin pérdida de calidad de la uva. Nesse contexto, tem-se como objetivo do trabalho, caracterizar o perfil do viticultor, e características do sistema produtivo na região do Planalto Norte Catarinense. A metodologia utilizada no trabalho foi um estudo de caso com os produtores de uva na região do Planalto Norte Catarinense. A coleta das informações ocorreu entre os meses de junho e agosto de 2019, através de um questionário, sendo realizado presencialmente com cada produtor rural. A análise e interpretação dos dados foram realizadas de forma ampla, correlacionando com outros conhecimentos e comparando com outros estudos. Apesar do cultivo da videira e seu processamento já serem realizadas a anos, verifica-se um volume baixo desses produtos elaborados, sendo o suco de uva o produto mais elaborado. A variedade mais cultivada na região é a Bordô, predominando o sistema de sustentação Latada, destacando-se o espaçamento de 3,0 x 2,0 m. Tendo o controle de pragas e doenças como principal entrave de produção, aliado a grande diversidade de variedades cultivadas, de sistemas de sustentação utilizados, e de espaçamentos de plantas no vinhedo,  conclui-se que a atividade ainda carece de pesquisa e assistência técnica, a fim de orientar os produtores rurais a adotaram as variedades mais adaptadas em sistemas de cultivo que otimizem a produtividade sem que haja perda da qualidade da uva.
