Resumo: This article will deal with Giorgio Agamben’s statements about the new coronavirus pandemic and his idea of civil wear or stasis. In view of the accusation that, in his reading of the pandemic context, the philosopher was just trying to be consistente with his own philosophy, this research aims to demonstrate how an emergency context, such as the current pandemic, was already seen by Agamben as a justification for implementing exceptional measures or as a manifestation of a world civil war. For this purpose, an assentially bibliographic research was carried out, having as main theoretical reference the philosopher’s articles publiched on the Quodlibet website, his works and other texts prior to the pandemic, specially Stasis (2015), in addition to the writings of Michel Foucault, one of his main references.   Keywords: Pandemic. Agamben. Civil war. Exception.

Agamben. Civil war. Exception.
