Resumo: The objective of this work was to evaluate the project management methodologies used by the Third Sector Organizations. The research was carried out in a city in the interior of the São Paulo State in 25 organizations from different areas of activity. The organizations answered a structured questionnaire, with 90 closed questions, which allowed to identify the aspects contained in the research objectives. The results indicate that voluntary work is predominant in Third Sector Organizations (46% of participating organizations). Research participants have undergraduate degrees (48%) and graduate degrees (24%), and 52% of them organize and carry out their work entirely as projects. 40% of organizations have standardized procedures for managing projects. 68% adopt formal criteria for the selection of projects, and 71% of them monitor the costs of the project during execution. It concludes that the Third Sector Organizations use project management procedures reasonably well, mainly in relation to the management of communication, human resources, deadlines, and costs. Keywords: Project management. Projects. Non-Profit Organizations. Third Sector.
