Resumo: The objective of this paper is to analyze the convergence between the growth of economic sectors and socioeconomic development indicators in intermediate regions along the Brazilian border. Therefore, this study identified the average convergence with the methodology proposed by Williamson and Fleming. The variables used to analyze the convergence of economic growth were GDP, GDP per capita and sectoral GDP per capita; for the convergence of socioeconomic development, the (IFDM) was used as a parameter. The period of analysis was 2005 and 2017. The results identified that the Arcs of the border strip showed economic growth in different sectors, according to their comparative advantage. There was divergence in development indicators, mainly for the Education and Health dimensions, indicating that the intermediate regions of the border strip still have difficulties in advancing in the social aspects of human development.
