Resumo: No woman is free from experiencing violent practices during childbirth, in recent years, it has become a public health problem, present in any and all cultures worldwide, without distinguishing race and socioeconomic level. The review analyzed the literature on nursing in the face of obstetric violence in the hospital environment in the last ten years. In the 11 articles reviewed, it was observed that all women suffered at least one type of violence, indicating the existence of a hierarchy between women and professionals, which makes horizontality difficult, distancing these women from the hospital environment, however the nursing team is protagonist in humanized care, in addition to being considered essential to reduce violent rates, since the form of reception offered to this woman will define her perception of the experience of motherhood. Practices aimed at care, teaching and assistance during childbirth, and the creation of public policies can be effective strategies to remedy obstetric violence.
