Resumo: The present study aim was to investigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health status of students of health occupations. This is a review at the directory of the BVS and PUBMED, on the following databases: LILACS, SciELO and MEDLINE). In the search for articles, the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS used were: “mental health”, “pandemic”, “COVID-19” and “college”. A total of 10 studies were included. The following impacts on mental health were evaluated: depression (40%), anxiety (40%), negative impact on mental health (30%), psychological suffering (20%), and the fear of COVID-19 (10%). University students are at high risk of psychological disorders, due to they suffer more by the impact of social distancing, isolation, and young age. Anxiety and depression turned out to be the prevalent and serious issues for students of health occupations, especially for female students. The main risk factors were social distancing and isolation, financial hardship, greater interest in media reports about the epidemic. The most effective prevention factors include decreasing hours spent watching outbreaks per day on social media and good support from the family during these unprecedented times.

Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, realizada nos diretórios PUBMED e BVS nas bases de dados: LILACS, SciELO e MEDLINE. Com os seguintes algoritmos DeCS: “mental health”, “pandemic”, “COVID-19” e “college”. Ao final da busca, 10 artigos atenderam aos critérios de elegibilidade e foram selecionados para compor o estudo. Foram avaliados os seguintes fatores de impacto à saúde: depressão (40%), ansiedade (40%), impactos negativos na saúde mental (30%), sofrimento psicológico (20%) e medo da COVID-19 (10%). Os estudantes universitários mostraram alto risco de distúrbios psicológicos, pois sofrem mais com o distanciamento social, o isolamento e a pouca idade. Ansiedade e depressão foram os problemas mais prevalentes para os estudantes de ciências da saúde, especialmente para os graduandos do sexo feminino. Os principais fatores de risco foram o isolamento social, a instabilidade financeira e a constante exposição às reportagens sobre a pandemia nas mídias sociais.
