The following impacts on mental health were evaluated: depression (40%), anxiety (40%), negative impact on mental health (30%), psychological suffering (20%), and the fear of COVID-19 (10%). University students are at high risk of psychological disorders, due to they suffer more by the impact of social distancing, isolation, and young age. Anxiety and depression turned out to be the prevalent and serious issues for students of health occupations, especially for female students. The main risk factors were social distancing and isolation, financial hardship, greater interest in media reports about the epidemic. The most effective prevention factors include decreasing hours spent watching outbreaks per day on social media and good support from the family during these unprecedented times. |
