Resumo: | ABSTRACT: The Spring can be defined when an aquifer arises on the surface of the land. Spring preservation actions have become indispensable, since they are currently considered as a natural resource of very high economic value, in this context the Regional Agricultural Cooperative of Palmeira dos Índios was created, with the objective of water recovery and preservation in the State of Alagoas. Therefore, this research analyzed, through the elaboration of bibliographic research, technical reports and booklets, a data survey to identify the number of springs recovered by the Cooperative, which over the years has developed a leading role, promoting agro-development. social, productive, economic and environmental in the state of Alagoas, serving family, indigenous and quilombola farmers, as they provide technical assistance and rural extension services, aiming at strengthening family farming and the sustainable development of the families served by the institution, generating improvement in their conditions and quality of life. The social technology used by the cooperative to recover springs is “Soil Cement”, a low-cost and easy-to-apply technology that makes it possible to improve water quality, reduce the risk of contamination by waterborne diseases, and increase the availability of clean water, take advantage of the excess water for the production of medicinal vegetables and herbs, generate income through the sale of the surplus, conserve and preserve the environment. Ações de preservação de nascentes têm se tornado indispensável, visto que atualmente as mesmas são consideradas como um recurso natural de altíssimo valor econômico, neste contexto surgi a Cooperativa Agropecuária Regional de Palmeira dos Índios, com o objetivo de recuperação e preservação hídrica no Estado de Alagoas. Sendo assim, a presente pesquisa analisou, por meio da elaboração de pesquisas bibliográfica, relatórios técnicos e cartilhas, um levantamento de dados para a identificação da quantidade de nascentes recuperadas pela Cooperativa, que ao longo dos anos tem desenvolvido papel preponderante, promovendo o desenvolvimento agro social, produtivo, econômico e ambiental no estado de Alagoas, atendendo a agricultores (as) familiares, indígenas e quilombolas, como prestam serviços de assistência técnica e extensão rural, visando o fortalecimento da agricultura familiar e o desenvolvimento sustentável das famílias atendidas pela instituição, gerando melhoria nas suas condições e qualidade de vida. A tecnologia social utilizada pela cooperativa para recuperação das nascentes é “Solo Cimento”, uma tecnologia de baixo custo e de fácil aplicabilidade que possibilita melhorar a qualidade da água, reduzir os riscos de contaminação por doenças de veiculação hídrica, aumentar a disponibilidade de água limpa, aproveitar o excesso da água para produção de hortifrútis e erva medicinais, gerar renda através da comercialização do excedente, conservar e preservar o meio ambiente.
