Resumo: ABSTRACT: This work aims to report our experience with Oral History, developed in the Special Topic Course in History Teaching of the Master's program Prof.História at UFS. This experience had as its culminating point a research practiced in the Florestan Fernandes Settlement, located in Canindé de São Francisco-SE, for that purpose we made use of the Oral History Methodology, which offers innumerable possibilities, among them the one of giving voice to “little men”, so that from their experiences and worldviews, we can have an unofficial understanding of the most varied events. It is worth highlighting the importance of our interviewee, Mrs. Maria de Lourdes, whose rich testimony contributed a lot to the elucidation of different issues. It is worth noting that the article had as its guiding concepts the aforementioned Oral History, as well as Memory, Social Identity and Places of Memory. KEYWORDS: Memory and Identity. Interviews. Settlement.RESUMO: Este trabalho objetiva relatar a nossa experiência com História Oral, desenvolvida na disciplina Tópico Especial em Ensino de História do programa de Mestrado Prof.História da UFS. Tal experiência teve como ponto culminante uma pesquisa praticada no Assentamento Florestan Fernandes, localizado em Canindé de São Francisco-SE, para tanto fizemos uso da Metodologia da História Oral, a qual oferece inúmeras possibilidades, dentre elas a de dar voz aos “pequenos homens”, de forma que a partir das suas experiências e visões de mundo, possamos ter uma compreensão extraoficial sobre os mais variados eventos. Vale aqui destacar a importância da nossa entrevistada, a senhora Maria de Lourdes, cujo rico testemunho muito contribuiu para a elucidação de questões diversas. Vale destacar que o artigo teve como conceitos norteadores a já mencionada História Oral, bem como Memória, Identidade social e Lugares de Memória. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Memória e Identidade. Entrevistas.
