Escrita, universidade e sociedade: formação de leitores em ambiente de produção de conhecimento

This article aims to reflect on the development of readers in higher education, for which we used chronicles produced by students of the Technology in Business Management course in the first semester of 2020. To carry out this work, students engaged with different texts and their possible interpretations. The proposal presented in the classroom sought to better understand the students, including a written production that allowed us to observe their writing skills, thematic choices, and how they relate to everyday events. In order to conduct the analysis presented in this work, we relied on the works of Freire (2008), Kock (2011), and Ducrot (1972; 1987; 1989; 1990). These analyses indicate that the students' production, resulting from their readings, generally reproduces what is conventionally referred to as 'common sense,' that is, the discourse of the dominant ideology. The texts not only reproduce this ideology but also reinforce it in the discursive process. We conclude that it is necessary to always return to one of the principles of Portuguese language teaching - that of promoting the development of readers who, through writing, can express something to the community they belong to and in accordance with the moment they are living, going beyond mere observation or reproduction of common sense.
