Resumo: In the heart of Literature, oral poetry, or the poetics of orality as a whole, encompass methodologies of analysis that differ from those of conservative and traditionalist Literary Criticism and Theory, since its broad theoretical and conceptual support relates the literary scope with many other epistemic fields, such as theater, music, anthropology, sociology, ethnology, among others. Therefore, this work aims to discuss some theoretical points regarding oral poetry and its genealogy in popular cultures, incurring its methodological and epistemological interfaces. For this, we based ourselves on a literature review of texts and research by authors such as: Zumthor (1993), Fernandes (2007), Culler (1999), Santos (1994), Burke (1989), among others.

Em vista disso, este trabalho aspira discutir alguns pontos teóricos no que concerne à poesia oral e sua genealogia nas culturas populares, incursionando em suas interfaces metodológicas e epistemológicas.
