LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY FROM THE INDIGENOUS PERSPECTIVE IN INSTITUTIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL CONTEXTS

Resumo: | This article is based on sociolinguistic study, which examines linguistics considering the social context and the relationship between language and society. It is important to highlight that language and diverse linguistic knowledge are also synonymous with identity, science, and culture. Through language, we create mechanisms of social interaction and transmit a worldview, and this linguistic diversity enriches our way of perceiving the world. Each different language represents another perspective to see, know, and understand the world. Structuralists are guided towards the organization of a descriptive grammar and perceive language as a social reality, conceiving it as a complex system of signs in which each one is interconnected with others. The farther the structure of a language is, the more difficult it becomes to explain the way of understanding the universe. Acquiring knowledge of multiple languages allows us to broaden our perspectives and see and act in different ways. This study is guided by the works of authors such as Weinreich (2006), Salomão (2013), and Maher (2010). |

Importante destacar que a linguagem e os diversos conhecimentos linguísticos é também sinônimo de identidade, ciência e cultura. Através da linguagem criamos mecanismos de interação social e transmitimos uma visão de mundo e essa diversidade linguística enriquece a maneira de ver o mundo. A cada língua diferente é mais uma maneira de ver, conhecer e entender o mundo. Os estruturalistas são orientados para a organização de uma gramática descritiva e entendem a linguagem como uma realidade social concebendo-a como um sistema de sinais (complexo) no qual cada um está ligado a outros, quanto mais longe a estrutura dessa língua for, mais difícil será explicar a maneira de conhecer o universo. Conhecer várias línguas nos permite ampliar os nossos olhares e ver e agir de forma diferente.
