Resumo: Objective: To investigate the use of m-Health applications by patients with hypertension in adherence to medication treatment and reduction/stabilization of blood pressure. Method: Non-randomized, controlled, and non-blind clinical trial. A total of 37 participants, adults and elderly, men and women, diagnosed with arterial hypertension and undergoing continuous medical treatment, were recruited. Over 3 months, the control group followed conventional treatment, while the intervention group used the m-Health application. Adherence to treatment was assessed using the Adherence to Refills and Medications Scale questionnaire. Results: There was no significant difference in treatment adherence between the groups, both pre-intervention (p=0.360) and post-intervention (p=0.065). Regarding blood pressure values, there was no significant difference between the groups. However, a decrease in pressure was observed in the intervention group of about 8 mmHg in systolic pressure (from 140.34±20.78 to 132.00±22.14). Conclusion: The app showed potential applicability in improving adherence of hypertensive patients to therapies. It is suggested that new studies in digital health be conducted with a stronger link between patients and professionals, recruiting non-adherent patients and over a more extended period.

Método: Ensayo clínico no aleatorizado, controlado y no ciego. Durante 3 meses, o grupo controle seguiu o tratamento convencional, enquanto o grupo intervenção utilizou o aplicativo m-Health. Editora UNEMAT2023-12-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.unemat.br/index.php/jhnpeps/article/view/11665Journal Health NPEPS; Vol. 8 No. 2 (2023): Julho-DezembroJournal Health NPEPS; Vol. 8 Núm. 2 (2023): Julho-DezembroJournal Health NPEPS; v. 8 n. 2 (2023): Julho-Dezembro2526-1010reponame:Journal Health NPEPSinstname:Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (UNEMAT)instacron:UNEMATporhttps://periodicos.unemat.br/index.php/jhnpeps/article/view/11665/8141Copyright (c) 2023 Journal Health NPEPSinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMikulski, Bruna SpillerFauro, Milena UriarteMartins, Aline de OliveiraBellei, Ericles AndreiAlves, Ana Luisa Sant’AnnaBertol, Charise DallazemDe Marchi, Ana Carolina Bertoletti2024-01-12T01:43:59Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/11665Revistahttp://periodicos.unemat.br/index.php/jhnpepsPUBhttps://periodicos.unemat.br/index.php/jhnpeps/oainpeps@unemat.br2526-10102526-1010opendoar:2024-01-12T01:43:59Journal Health NPEPS - Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (UNEMAT)false
