Free fall, black mirror: the social impact caused by digital media, an analysis of human behavior

This article aims to analyze the construction process of social media in a social and historical context, drawing attention to human behavior. Thus, it appears that the new social media determine our modes of relationship, partiality, changing reality and generating, however, addiction on users. So, with individuals’ exacerbated by connection to these new media via internet, the impacts are more effective, interfering directly in the individual’s life, in his health, in his interpersonal relationships with the people that surround him, in his work, studies and alike. The article also analyzes the Black Mirror series, more specifically about a clipping in the first episode of the third season, entitled “Nosedive”. This analysis has it’s theoretical basis the studies of ALEXANDRE (2001); CALAZANS and LIMA (2013); CASTELLS (2005); KOHN (2007); MARTINO (2014) and MOREIRA (2017).
