Resumo: This paper analyzes the objective logic of professional commitment to the defense of social causes in the city of Aracaju/Sergipe. The methodological procedure consists in questionnaires given to professionals who occupy positions in institutions oriented towards collective causes, in order to identify who they are, where they come from and what is the main basis for their social resources. This research details the profile of these professionals, theirs social and political backgrounds as well as the role of formal and informal relationship networks as the main access channel to the causes.

Os procedimentos metodológicos consistiram na aplicação de questionários para profissionais que ocupam cargos em instituições voltadas às causas coletivas, com objetivo de identificar quem são, de onde vem e qual é a base principal de seus recursos sociais.
