Resumo: The article shows the perception of residents and leaders from Sacopã maroon community (RJ) on the Brazilian Judiciary in the various processes of recognition of their territorial and cultural rights. The objective is to discuss the judicialization of the experience of maroon communities in Rio de Janeiro state, which are involved in several court lawsuits, either for the land rights of their territories, or in relation to neighbors, occupants and even to the government.

El objetivo es discutir la judicialización de la experiencia de las comunidades quilombolas de Río de Janeiro, que están involucradas en varios procesos, sea para la titulación de sus territorios, o sea en relación con los vecinos, los ocupantes e incluso el poder público.O artigo mostra a percepção de moradores e lideranças do Quilombo Sacopã (Rio de Janeiro-RJ) sobre o Judiciário brasileiro nos diversos processos em que pleiteia o reconhecimento de seus direitos – territoriais e culturais.
