Resumo: The objective of the present study was to analyze the process of muscular fatigue through the electromyographic signal of the vastus lateralis muscle (VL) during two protocols (exhaustion and 1 minute) in the isometric exercise of the knee extension. The electromyographic signals (RMS) of dominant lower limb VL muscle of the 9 female were captured with sample frequency of 1000Hz. Data were acquired through surface electrodes connected to a biological signals acquisition module, by A/D interface and specific software. The obtained results, after the accomplishment of the linear regression between RMS and the number of collections, showed a predominance of positive correlations in both protocols, corresponding to the development of the muscular fatigue. However, the intensity and the significant level of the correlations presented better results in the exhaustion protocol. It was concluded that in the 1 minute protocol loads ≥30% of the maximum load should be used.

Os sinais eletromiográficos (RMS) do músculo VL do membro inferior dominante de 9 voluntários (sexo feminino) foram captados com freqüência de amostragem de 1000Hz. Utilizou-se eletrodos de superfície conectados a um módulo de aquisição de sinais biológicos, uma placa A/D e um software específico. Dos resultados obtidos, após a realização da regressão linear entre o RMS e o número de coletas, verificou-se um predomínio de correlações positivas em ambos protocolos, caracterizando o desenvolvimento da fadiga muscular. No entanto, a intensidade das correlações e o nível de significância das retas apresentaram melhores resultados no protocolo de exaustão.
