Resumo: This article develops a discussion about the first medical journal launched in Brazil and particularly the Revista de Ginecologia e d’obstetrícia. Expert Magazine launched in 1907, it was considered the first newspaper for the doctor in gynecology and obstetrics in Brazil. For its long duration, more than seven decades, this magazine may be analyzed as a place of knowledge, a space for discussion and establishment of medical specialties geared to women. It is for this reason that the magazine is an important object of review to all interested in studies of gender, especially the reading of medicine on the specifics of the female body. Periódico especializado, lançado em 1907, foi considerado o primeiro jornal médico destinado à ginecologia e à obstetrícia no Brasil. Pela sua longa duração, mais de sete décadas, a revista pode ser analisada como um lugar de saber, um espaço de debate e constituição das especialidades médicas voltadas às mulheres.
